Pelicans are one of the largest birds in existence, with adults weighing up to 14 kg.

Their wings are strong and powerful and can send their huge bodies into the sky with ease. However, they cannot take off directly like other birds but need a runway. This runway is the surface of the water, and it must paddle and run on the water while flapping its huge wings to get enough speed to take off under the huge thrust.

The huge beak is the pelican's signature look, appearing top-heavy. The adult pelican's beak is 30cm long and has a curved hook at the end of the beak to hook prey and prevent it from breaking free.

The pelican has a large throat sac below the beak. The throat sac is soft and flexible and can hold 11 liters of water, two to three times the volume of the stomach. So of course the pelican can fit anything it wants with such a large beak.

As one of the world's birds with a large beak, pelicans have absolutely no clear idea of their strength. Their guideline for testing whether something is edible or not is, to swallow it and try it. So the pelican has used its big mouth to make many animals suffer.

Australia is a region rich in waterfowl, and because of the large number of individuals, the study of bird behavior in Australia is highly credible. In the small town of Kingscote, Australia, pelicans can be considered bully birds in the same class as gulls.

Not only fish, but anything that the pelican sees, it has to come and try to see if it can put the thing in its mouth. For example, it wants to taste the dog's head and the cat's head. The pelicans at the zoo sometimes want to taste the giraffes as well.

Passersby in small towns eat on the street, not only to keep an eye on the seagulls in the sky may come back at any time to rob, or even a pelican behind you may want to swallow you at any time and place.

The pelican tries to swallow everything it can, including small mice, other birds and other small mammals.

Even though some foods are not in the pelican's biological chain, they are hard to escape a swallow as long as they are found by it. If it is a large size cat or dog, the pelican will give up when it finds that it cannot fit in its mouth.

But there are some for small-sized animals, once the pelican fished into their big mouths, basically are hard to escape fate.

Whether it's a beak that owes or a predator, or a fight, the pelican's beak is an important weapon for them. It is because of this large beak that swallows random things, so injuries are inevitable. The laryngeal sac of the pelicans is a very delicate skin tissue. Their throat sacs are often injured.

The pelican laryngeal sac is, after all, skin tissue and such breaks that can be healed. Even worse than the damage to the laryngeal sac is the breakage of the pelican's upper beak caused by fighting. Once a pelican's upper beak is injured, it is irreversible damage.

The pelican's beak is good, but it is still too big and will inevitably cause problems in their daily life. A pelican with a body length of 1.5 meters has a beak that is 0.5 meters long, so they can't run very fast.
