Nestled on Bali’s southeastern coast, Karang Beach is a tranquil escape from the island’s bustling tourist hubs. Recently, we had the pleasure of exploring this serene spot, and it quickly became one of our favorite places in Bali.
With its pristine sands, clear waters, and laid-back atmosphere, Karang Beach offers a slice of paradise that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Karang Beach is renowned for its calm waters and picturesque views, making it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. As we arrived early in the morning, we were greeted by a breathtaking sunrise that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The gentle waves and soft sand underfoot provided a perfect backdrop for a relaxing day by the sea.
The beach is relatively small, so it never feels overcrowded. This allowed us to enjoy some much-needed peace and quiet while lounging on the sand. We spent our day soaking up the sun, reading a book, and taking refreshing dips in the crystal-clear water. The beach’s shallow waters are great for families with young children and anyone looking for a safe, relaxing swim.
Opening Hours: Karang Beach is open year-round, 24/7. However, the best time to visit is during the day when the sun is out, typically from 7 AM to 7 PM.
Ticket Prices: Entrance to Karang Beach is free, making it a budget-friendly destination for travelers. However, we recommend bringing some cash for refreshments and beachside snacks.
For those looking to stay close to the beach, The Karang Beach Resort is a charming option. Located just a short walk from the sand, this boutique hotel offers a blend of comfort and convenience. The resort features spacious rooms with ocean views, a refreshing pool, and a lush garden area perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach.
Prices: Room rates at The Karang Beach Resort start at approximately $80 per night for a standard room. For a more luxurious experience, the ocean-view suites are available starting at around $150 per night. The resort also offers special packages that include breakfast and additional amenities.
While enjoying Karang Beach, we couldn’t resist trying some of the local food options available right by the shore. The beachside warungs (small eateries) serve an array of delicious Balinese dishes.
We started with Nasi Goreng , a flavorful fried rice dish topped with a fried egg and served with vegetables and a choice of chicken or shrimp. At just $5, it’s a satisfying and affordable meal.
Next, we sampled Mie Goreng , another popular dish consisting of stir-fried noodles with vegetables, chicken, and a rich blend of spices. This dish, priced around $6, was both hearty and delicious.
For a light snack, the Coconut Pancakes were a delightful treat. These sweet and fluffy pancakes, garnished with fresh coconut, cost about $4 and were perfect for a midday indulgence.
Our visit to Karang Beach was a truly refreshing experience. From its peaceful ambiance and stunning views to the delicious local cuisine and charming accommodations, it’s a destination that offers something special for every traveler.
Dear Lykkers! If you’re looking for a serene escape in Bali, we highly recommend adding Karang Beach to your itinerary. Whether you’re lounging by the sea, enjoying local food, or staying at The Karang Beach Resort, this hidden gem is sure to leave you with unforgettable memories.
